SAVITRI as an Educational Entity was promoted by Raj Duggal Education Society(RDES). Under the aegis of Raj Duggal Education Society, since 1992, we have been in the business of Empowering Women and Training them with employable and household skills through various development programmes. We had patterned the skills development education concept after the American Community Colleges. Savitri Polytechnic for Women, our First Institution highlighted below, was named as such, because the word Polytechnic was popularly known in India and it was easy to introduce , publicize and advertise. The growth of our institutions as been:

1. Savitri Polytechnic for Women (1992)
2. Savitri College of Distance Education (2007)
3. Savitri Community College (2007)
4. Savitri-IGNOU Community College (2010)

(Savitri Community College was renamed as Savitri-IGNOU community College on its registration under IGNOU community college scheme in 2010.) Over 18,000 women have since been trained at the above SAVITRI GROUPS OF INSTITUTIONS and are suitably placed in employment or are self-employed. The secret of our success is that we timely reduce/remove a mismatch between employers’ business needs and Educational Training Outputs. RDES is committed to get the courses we offer be approved and certified for their validity at National Level for Job openings, by any competent agency, University of Recruit, or State/ National Govt.
